Stop the Bleed is a national public health campaign initiated by the U.S. Department of Defense to empower everyday people to act as immediate responders in life-threatening bleeding emergencies.
The campaign encourages bystanders to become trained, equipped, and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives. It aims to inform the general public about basic trauma care techniques to stop or slow bleeding during emergencies. You will be taught different methods of tourniquet application and bleeding control to stop massive hemorrhage and life-threatening bleeding. This class is provided in partnership with the Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Patuxent River.
