Ready to let your words loose? Celebrate Poetry Month with us! Step up to the open mic and share your favorite poem. Craft poetry themed art and experiment with different types of poetry.

Bring a poem of your own creation, one you love written by another, or choose from some provided selections. Serious, silly, heartfelt, chaotic- every style is welcome.  

Not feeling ready for the spotlight? No problem. Hang out, listen, snap your fingers in approval, and jump into our hands-on poetry experiments. Try out different poetry styles with fun prompts, remix words into blackout poems, or play with unexpected formats that prove poetry doesn’t have to rhyme—or behave.

You can also create a poetry-themed craft to take home, turning words into art you can keep or share.

This event will be held outdoors at Nicolet Park. Bring a blanket, bring a friend, bring your weirdest metaphor. Come for the poetry, stay for the creativity, and discover that poetry is way more fun when it’s a little wild. 🎤📜✨
