Zoom Room 2

Journalist, Emily Cataneo, will be joining us live to talk about the real sea women of the Island of Jeju, in South Korea.

Join us in welcoming Emily Cataneo, writer, journalist, and the co-founder of the Redbud Writing Project, a creative writing educational organization for adults that is based in Raleigh, North Carolina.  As a journalist, Emily has written about a variety of topics for venues such as the Boston Globe, the Financial Times, Slate, NPR, and more.  In 2017, she traveled to the island of Jeju in South Korea, where she interviewed one of the haenyeo (a woman diver of Korea) and learned about their intriguing, ancient culture.  She wrote about this experience for the travel website Roads & Kingdoms later that year.  Emily will be joining us live to talk about these "real sea women".

Register to receive the link to the Zoom meeting the day before the event.

If you require an ASL interpreter or other accommodation for this event, please contact us at virtualservices@stmalib.org with as much notice as possible, but no later than five business days before the event date.
