Local author Eman Quotah will share her experience with writing and publishing her award-winning debut novel. Registration required.

Writing Workshop: Messing with The Rules of Fiction

Get in the fiction sandbox with author Eman Quotah. She’ll join us online to discuss conventional and unconventional wisdom regarding fundamentals such as character, setting/place, structure, chronology, plot and action. Whether you already write fiction or want to try your hand at it, you’ll walk away knowing more about how to follow, bend, or break the rules in short stories and novels.


Eman Quotah is the author of the novel Bride of the Sea, which was shortlisted for the 2022 William Saroyan International Prize for Writing. She is a recipient of a 2022 Independent Artist Award from the Maryland State Arts Council. She lives in Rockville, MD with her family.
