Let’s get cooking in November with Two Parts Sugar, One Part Murder by V. M. Burns (2022), the first installment in the Baker Street mysteries.
After being left at the altar, Maddy Montgomery decides it’s time for a change and moves to her recently inherited great Aunt Octavia’s house in Michigan. In order to inherit the house, Maddy must run her aunt’s bakery and care for a 200-pound English Mastiff named Baby. Unfortunately, Maddy doesn’t bake and has little experience with large dogs, but the locals are friendly and the scenery is beautiful. That is, until the town mayor is fatally stabbed and Maddy’s fingerprints are found on the knife. Maddy soon learns there is something strange going on in New Bison, Michigan, and her Aunt Octavia had her own suspicions before her death. Now Maddy must find a way to save her own reputation – and her life.
