Speaker - Garrey Dennie, Associate Professor of History at St. Mary’s College of Maryland
Dr. Garrey Dennie specializes in African History and African Diaspora Studies. With a background as a speechwriter for Nelson Mandela, he lectures on liberation rhetoric in South Africa and teaches courses on African and Caribbean history, as well as American slave systems. His expertise includes writing Caribbean histories for the general public, and he has published articles on significant historical moments in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, his home country.

World on the Move: 250,00 years of Human Migration was developed by the American Anthropological Association, together with the Smithsonian’s Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage and Smithsonian Exhibits. It is administered by the American Library Association’s Public Programs Office.
