Want to discover more about what our government's founding documents actually say? This presentation from Dr. Jim Gibb covers Article II of the Constitution, which outlines the role of the president.

Convention delegates understood legislatures and legislation, but the office of president was novel, different even from state governors. They addressed the matter early in the Convention, tabled it, and then rushed through the details at the end of the Convention. In this presentation we will explore what the Constitution has to say about the presidency and why. We’ll also look at the Presidential Succession Acts of 1886 and 1947, and the 22nd and 25th amendments.

This presentation will be held live over Zoom. It will also be recorded and uploaded to the St. Mary's County Library YouTube channel.

If you would like to attend this event live and/or watch the recording, please register with an email address to receive the Zoom link the day before the event. The YouTube link to the recording will be emailed to everyone who registers for this program.
