Pets Together is a non-profit program designed to make connections between people and pets in an effort to curb feelings of social isolation and loneliness.
Social isolation and loneliness are critical public health threats, especially for older adults and those who live in group settings, but in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, that threat is increasing for all of us. As we all stay home to protect one another from the virus, we must also protect each other from these public health risks.
A group of pet loving folks, who just want to do something good for their fellow humans, will visit with us virtually along with their pets! These visiting pets may include dogs, cats, horses, goats, and chickens.
This virtual program is designed for those living in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and residential treatment programs (e.g., behavioral health, rehabilitation), inpatient/outpatient medical centers (e.g., hospitals, cancer centers), other group settings, and elderly shut-ins, but is open to anyone feeling isolated in these times.
