Join us on the 3rd Thursday of each month at the Leonardtown Library to discuss & do a matching themed activity. Be ready to talk about a genre that puts us all at ease while keeping us on our toes.
The theme for December is Baking Bedlam!
The book for this month is Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder (2000) by Joanne Fluke.
The first book in this series focuses on Hannah Swensen, a “dessert-baking, red-haired heroine whose gingersnaps are as tart as her comebacks, and whose penchant for solving crimes one delicious clue at a time has made her a bestselling favorite.” Hannah is busy attempting to run The Cookie Jar bakery and dodging her mother’s matchmaking attempts, when a beloved delivery man is found murdered just behind her shop covered in Hannah’s famous Chocolate Chip Crunchies. Do Hannah’s cookies actually have anything to do with the murder? There’s only one way to find out!
Search for copies in the catalog; or download a digital copy on Hoopla.
As many baking and food themed cozies come with recipes included (especially those in the Hannah Swensen series), we will be sharing our own recipes. Please bring 15 copies of a favorite recipe to share with everyone in our very own recipe-swap. If you’d like to bring a sampling of the dish to share, you are more than welcome!
