Learn the many ways you can help scientists all over the world while bird-watching!
“Citizen science enables people from all walks of life to advance scientific research. Libraries across the country are helping people take an active role in finding solutions to science-based issues by promoting citizen science projects, kits, and events.” – SciStarter
We will share different apps & websites that help you to identify birds and record your observations for various international research projects. Our group will focus on the Celebrate Urban Birds project. Molly Moore, President of The Southern Maryland Audubon Society will take us outside to practice what we learned about observing birds.
Unless it is pouring rain, we will go outside to practice what we learn. Please dress appropriately.
For more information about Citizen Science and Kits that will be available for checkout after the event series is over, please go to the library’s Citizen Science event page.
Thank you to The Patuxent Partnership for supporting this series of events and the creation of kits for checkout!
