A special edition chess day, featuring a chess tournament with a formal ruleset utilizing chess clocks and judging.

Registration is required for competitors, format will be in quads, with a potential winner's group with enough participants.

Prizes will be available for quad winners, as well as small participation prizes.

 

There will be a 14 and under division and a 15+ division, maximum of 24 participants per division. 

Tournament Rules-

Clock Rules

Matches have a 10 minute clock timer.

You must hit the clock with the same hand you move a piece with.

Black decides which side of the board the clock is on.

No Taking Back Moves

Once you let go of a piece, the move is final.

If you make more than 3 illegal moves in a game, further illegal moves have a 10 second penalty.
