SMECO is here to help members save money and support a more sustainable community.
- University of Maryland Extension Master Gardener Program: Master Gardeners are committed to educating residents about safe, effective and sustainable horticultural practices that build healthy gardens, landscapes, and communities. Learn about the upcoming Master Gardener certification course, register for future educational programs, and get tips and tricks for a successful gardening season!
- Lexington Manor Passive Park Community Garden - Gateway Native Garden: The Community Garden is right around the corner and full of fun opportunities to grow with your community. From the communal garden plots full of growing veggies (and quickly ripening strawberries) to the native plants supporting our pollinators right outside the fence, there's always something growing on at the garden!
- St. Mary's College of Maryland - Environmental Studies Department Student Capstone Project: Maryland Seed Swapper Guide: Meet the group of passionate undergraduates designing a community resource to empower people in Maryland to get involved in their communities, specifically through the cultivation of native seeds. Their aim is to create a user-friendly, fact-based, and accessible package for people who want the right information for environmental protection through native plants.
